Giving birth early
This is a story about a mother giving birth to a premature baby and their time spent in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Sainte-Justine’s Hospital. The CHU Sainte-Justine’s NICU is the largest neonatal care facility in Canada. It has a capacity of 65 beds and treats 1 100 patients each year.
The battle of Olivia
On September 18th, 2019, Olivia was scheduled for a CT scan at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. An ophthalmologist ordered the scan to investigate a concerning eye inflammation. The parents had no idea that their world was about to change forever.
